Deeply Rooted Memberships and Programs Begin
October 1 🌱
At Deeply Rooted Learning Center, learning happens through hands-on experiences in nature, art, and community. From weekly clubs and co-op classes to seasonal celebrations and family field trips, each program is designed to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and strengthen family connections.
Whether you’re a homeschooler, a nature enthusiast, or simply looking for meaningful activities with your children, you’ll find a place here to belong and grow.
Look below to explore what we offer year-round!
Wildflowers is our monthly art track where children dive into bigger projects and deeper skills. Unlike the lighter, seasonal art woven into our weekly co-op, Wildflowers gives kids time to explore techniques and materials that take more focus and creativity.
Projects may include:
Pottery and hand-built clay pieces
Jewelry making with natural materials
Natural dye work using plants and flowers
Seasonal decorations and keepsakes
Each session is designed to help kids create projects that last — beautiful, meaningful works—perfect for sharing at home or displaying in our holiday bazaar or community art show while also building confidence with tools, traditions, and creative problem-solving.
Monthly projects in painting, printmaking, and crafts inspired by the seasons
✨ Add-On Option: Pair this with the Young Makers Club for kids who want to go beyond creating—into branding, storytelling, and preparing their art or crafts for real markets like our holiday bazaar and spring art show.
Our weekly co-op is the heart of Deeply Rooted — where children learn through art, ecology, and local history side by side. Each Wednesday we gather in community to explore the rhythms of Cape May’s seasons, habitats, and traditions.
In Ecology, kids engage with the natural world through hands-on activities like nature walks, foraging demonstrations, seasonal observations, and simple tools that connect them to the land.
In Art, they respond creatively with projects tied to the week’s theme — watercolor, collage, leaf printing, flower pressing, and other seasonal crafts that let them bring nature’s beauty home.
Together, Art & Ecology create a balanced rhythm of learning and making: one rooted in place, in tradition, and in the joy of creating alongside friends.
Each week blends hands-on exploration with creative projects. Ages 6–14. Wednesdays from 10 am - 1 pm, October-April.For kids ready to bring their creativity into the marketplace. Students learn the full process of making, marketing, and selling—from pricing and display to branding and storytelling.
Along the way, they gain confidence, teamwork skills, and hands-on experience preparing for real events like our Christmas Bazaar and Spring Art Show.
Co-op Art: Harvest of Imagination – watercolor landscapes & leaf-print collage.
Co-op Ecology: Tools & Traditions – Lenape tools, harvest traditions, foraging crafts.
Makers Club: Branding + storytelling for the Christmas Bazaar.

Is Seed really free?
Yes! Seed includes nature walks, one Wildflowers Art class, and seasonal events. If you’re able, your $10/month support helps us keep these offerings available to everyone.
Is pricing per child or per family?
Per family. Your membership covers your entire household.
Can we join mid-season?
Yes! You can join Seed or Sprout at any time. Bloom (Makers Club) closes October 15 since it’s a cohort.
Can non-members attend Homestead classes?
Yes — non-members pay $35 per class, while members pay $25. Rooted memberships include one Homestead class per year.
Do we have to commit for the whole year?
Memberships are structured seasonally (Fall: Oct–Dec, Spring: Jan–Apr). We ask for a 3-month minimum commitment per season to help us plan for teachers and materials.
